Scott City boys basketball coach Lance Amick won't be as active on the sidelines for a while, but the third-year coach still will be on the bench.

Amick, 25, confirmed that he will take a different role temporarily due to health concerns, which he did not wish to disclose.

The Scott City graduate is in his third season with the Rams, who are 8-5 this season. They had a six-game winning streak snapped Tuesday with a loss to Delta.

"As soon as I'm able, I'll be back; hopefully in the next week or so," Amick said. "It's not going to run me off. I'll be back. Right now, I'm worried about me, and getting back with my kids."

Amick said assistant Jim Gloth will take some of the duties of communicating with players and officials.
