Illinois State rallied from eight shots down Tuesday to win the 17-team Drury Intercollegiate golf tournament hosted by Southeast Missouri State University.

The Redbirds had finished Monday's opening 36 holes eight shots behind leader Morehead State.

But Illinois State sizzled over the final 18 holes at the Cape Girardeau Country Club, firing a 5-under-par team score of 275.

Illinois State finished at even-par 840, one shot ahead of Morehead State, which closed with a 284 to wind up at 841.

Southwest Missouri and Tennessee Tech tied for third at 848.

Another seven shots back was Austin Peay, which finished fifth at 855. Host Southeast placed sixth at 856.

Nicholas Atzinger of Morehead State captured the individual title as he fired a 5-under 65 on the par-70 Cape Country Club course. Atzinger's 54-hole total was 10-under 200.

Adam Goldie and Stuart Anderson, both of Illinois State, and first-day leader Joe Humston of Austin Peay finished in a three-way tie for second at 3-under 207.

Southeast's Jason Owen and Southwest's Rohan Allwood tied for fifth at 1-under 209.

The Indians' next highest finisher was John Litzelfelner, who tied for 25th at 6-over 216.
