The Zalma boys and Notre Dame girls cross country teams each took second place to fare the best among local teams at Saturday's Farmington Invitational at Engler Park.

On the boys' side, Zalma junior Peyton Ford finished fifth with a time of 17 minutes, 15.20 seconds to lead the Bulldogs, who edged Poplar Bluff by one point to place second overall in the team standings. Farmington junior Ryan Parson was the first runner to cross the finish line with a time of 16:09.88 to help the Knights capture the title. Parson finished ahead of Notre Dame junior Rudy McClellan, who finished second with a time of 16:45.44.

On the girls' side, Notre Dame sophomore Alaina Baumgart posted a third-place time of 19:22.48 seconds to help lead the Bulldogs, who finished 10 points behind Parkway Central in the team standings to take second place. Teammates Katie Hanners, Bailey Beussink and Jordan Meadors all finished in the top 10 to help the Bulldogs claim the silver.

JCAA Conference Meet

St. Vincent senior Levi Krauss posted a 14th-place time of 17:18.44 to lead the Indians to a fourth-place team finish in the meet at West City Park in Festus, Missouri.

Hillsboro senior Aaron Dugan won the boys race with a time of 16:09.35 as the Hawks finished second overall in the team standings behind host Festus.

Brogan Davis won first place in two events to help lead Cape Central to a fifth-place team finish in the meet at the John H. Foster Natatorium in Springfield, Missouri.

The Tigers sophomore standout won the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 53.13. He also took the gold in the 100 backstroke with a time of 53.66.
