All the local high school events reported Thursday to the Southeast Missourian.

Things went mostly according to plan in the second round of the Lady Devils Invitational at Chaffee High School in girls basketball action Tuesday.

Top-seeded Woodland (4-0) defeated No. 4 East Prairie 40-29 and No. 2 Oran (3-0) cruised over third-seeded Kelly 63-36 to secure spots in the championship match, which will be played Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Kelly (2-1) and East Prairie (1-2) will play for third place at 3 p.m.

Woodland's Josie Long scored a game-high 18 points in the victory. Oran was led in scoring by Addie Kielhofner with 21 points. Taylor Nenninger and Allie Cummins added 14 and 13, respectively.

On the consolation side of the bracket, host No. 6 Chaffee thumped seventh-seeded Scott City (0-3) 44-15 and eighth-seeded Puxico upset No. 5 Delta (0-3) 56-26. The Red Devils (2-2) will take on the Indians (1-1) at 1:30 p.m. Saturday for the consolation title.

Kelly Morton sank 13 points as the Tigers fell to the Pirates in the second round of the weather-delayed Northwest Invitational Tournament in House Springs, Mo.

Pattonville jumped out to a 33-21 lead at halftime and outscored Central in a strong second half to get the win.

Sarah Boerboom recorded five points and six rebounds while Maddie Daum tallied three points, six assists and three steals for the Tigers (0-3).

Alexis Brown calculated a game-high 22 points for Pattonville (1-3) while Marnae Brown contributed 16 points.

Grace Mirly totaled a game-high 16 points as the state-ranked Crusaders won their first home game of the season against the Raiders.

The Crusaders built a 10-point lead at halftime that proved to be the difference. The teams played to a 25-25 stalemate in the second half.

Raegan Wieser scored 15 points, including three 3-pointers, while Brianna Mueller added 13 points and four assists for Saxony Lutheran (2-0). Maddie Brune recorded four rebounds and five steals for the Crusaders.

Marianna Falls tallied 14 points for North County (3-2).

Annie Siebert collected a game-high 15 points as the Bulldogs routed the Pirates on the road.

Halle Lynch added 12 points while Kaitlin Welter and Madeline Rosenquist each had 11 points for Notre Dame (2-0). Shelby Beussink recorded eight rebounds and seven steals in addition to five points and Karsen Powers tallied seven assists and seven points for the Bulldogs.

Ahnie Hoff netted a team-high six points for Perryville (1-2).

AnnaBeth Phillips and Paige Godsey each netted game-high 14 points as the Black Cats picked up their first win of the season on the road against the Indians.

The game was tied 25-25 at halftime but the Black Cats managed to pull away in the second half by three points in each quarter.

Ellie Jensen added 13 points for Fredericktown (1-2).

St. Vincent's trio of Casey Unterreiner, Katie Mattingly and Kayla Winkler recorded eight points apiece for the Indians (2-2).

The Central girls' swimming team made a third-place splash in a four-team meet at Rockwood Summit High School in the suburban St. Louis area.

Freshman Josey Powell won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5 minutes, 56.16 seconds to lead the Tigers. Powell placed second in the 200 individual medley. Josie Young, Maddy McDonald and Maddie Siefert each took second place individually for Central.
