All the local high school events reported Monday to the Southeast Missourian.

Josie Long netted 25 points as the Woodland girls basketball team opened its season at home with a 74-31 win over Chaffee on Monday.

Long connected on two 3-pointers on the way to her game-high total.

Rachel Poole hit three 3-pointers and finished with 16 points.

Jordan Pruitt and Dakota People both finished with five points for Chaffee (0-1).
