All the local high school events reported Tuesday to the Southeast Missourian.

Jared Walker had four doubles and went 7 for 8 as the Chaffee baseball team posted a pair of shutouts at home Tuesday at Harmon Field.

The Red Devils dealt a 5-0 loss to Advance and a 9-0 loss to Scott County Central.

Walker, a senior, had two doubles and went 3 for 4 against Advance, then followed with a 4-for-4 performance against Scott County that included another pair of doubles.

Cody Johnson also had two doubles for the Red Devils against Advance, while Jimmy Golden had one.

Lane Henson recorded a complete-game victory against Advance. He gave up three hits and notched seven strikeouts.

Brian Whitson took the loss for Advance. He allowed seven hits and four runs over five innings. He struck out two batters.

Cole Hanna pitched five hitless innings against Scott County for the win. He recorded 10 strikeouts and helped his own cause with two hits.

Jake Brown had a double to pace the Braves.

Kaden Traughber took the loss for Scott County, allowing nine runs and eight hits over six innings.

Dylan Miller had two hits and drove in three runs to lead the Cardinals in the win at home.

Devon Ritter also had two hits, while Landon Johnson added a double for the Cardinals (6-3).

Ben Lincoln notched his first win on the mound, allowing one run over five innings.

Brendan Welker and Rodger Grubbs both had two hits for the Panthers (1-3).

Kevin Mattingly, who had three hits, and Noah Niswonger both doubled for the Indians. Nathan Carroll and Dylan Richardet both added two hits.

Rachel Birkman, who had three hits, Chasity Taylor and Ciara Coomer all had two RBIs for the Bobcats (3-0). Megan Perry added a double, while Henson and Taylor had two hits

Coomer also was the winning pitcher, allowing six hits and one earned run in going the distance. She had six strikeouts and two walks.

Sydney Bailey had a double among her two hits for the Hornets.
