The Central girls basketball team rallied to tie Sikeston in the final minute but the Bulldogs emerged with a 51-49 home victory Wednesday night.
The Tigers' Kadie Orenstein scored her only points of the game when she hit a 3-pointer with about 30 seconds remaining to tie the game at 49-49, but Sikeston moved ahead for good with a pair of free throws down the stretch.
"We had a couple opportunities to tie it up and didn't get it done," Central coach Sherri Shirrell said.
Chelsea Pannier led Central (9-12) with 12 points and added eight rebounds, three assists and three blocks. Alayah Cooper-Johnson pulled down 16 rebounds and Chelsea Vinson had six.
Asia Liggins scored a game-high 15 points for Sikeston.
