All the local high school events reported Tuesday to the Southeast Missourian.

The host Scott City softball team strung together six consecutive hits during an eight-run fifth inning to down Kelly 9-7 on Tuesday.

Sophomore Macy Hall went 4 for 4, and Lindsay Kern went 2 for 4 and knocked in a pair for Scott City (5-3).

Alexis Spriggs struck out three and walked two to grab the win in the circle. She added a pair of hits, including a double.

Samantha Ratledge went 3 for 4 for the Hawks.

The Bulldogs improved to 6-1 with a road victory.

Kate Edwards had seven kills, while Amy Wibbenmeyer and Miranda Fowler had six apiece. Fowler also had four kill-blocks, while Shelby Dix had 13 assists.

Leopold 22 25 25 Meadow Hts 25 18 12

Caitlin Petty had 13 kills, 14 assists, six digs and six aces to help the host Wildcats rally after dropping the first game.

Denai Arnzen added 13 kills and 17 digs, while Sydney Eeftink recorded 18 assists and 11 digs for Leopold (3-1).

JV -- Leopold won 25-12, 25-11.

Dexter 25 26 Central 12 24

The Tigers remained winless with a home loss.

Katie Williams led Central (0-7) with five kills, followed by Apolonia Thomas with four. Tori Scheller recorded 15 assists.

JV -- Dexter won 5-12, 25-7.

The Cubs improved to 2-2-1 with the road win.

CROSS COUNTRY

Kelly Invitational

Oak Ridge swept the top spot in both races, but the Blue Jays didn't have enough runners to field a team.

Ethan Seyer covered the 3.1-mile course in 17 minutes, 1 second to win the boys race. Teammate Corvin Schoen was third in 18:15.

Sam Breite took fourth to help lead the Saxony Lutheran boys to second place in the team standings with 45 points. Valle Catholic won the meet with 31 points.

Advance's Braden Bien rounded out the top five.

Oak Ridge's Amanda Lappe won the girls race in 22:04.

Chaffee's girls took second with 40 points. Valle Catholic won the meet with 10 points.

Lyndsey Statler paced the Red Devils with a sixth-place finish.
