Top-seeded Scott City defeated Delta 44-32 in the championship game of the Scott-Mississippi Conference girls basketball tournament Thursday night in Delta, Mo.

Katie Hogan led the Rams with 16 points, while Michaela Cobb netted nine points.

Machela VanGennip had 13 points for second-seeded Delta.

Scott City built a 23-12 lead by halftime and took an 11-point advantage into the fourth quarter.

Oran beat Kelly 56-41 in the third-place game.

Haley Glastetter had 17 points, while Crissy Sauceda added 12 for Oran.

Kristen Powell had a game-high 20 points for Kelly.

The Crusaders reached the championship game of the Chester Invitational behind a strong second half.

Saxony Lutheran trailed 37-30 at halftime but pulled to within 51-50 by the start of the fourth quarter. It completed the comeback over the final eight minutes.

Gus Klaus led Saxony Lutheran (7-7) with 23 points, while Clayton Carver hit four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points. Gabe Bohnert added 14 points.

Chester's Zach Lochhead scored a game-high 43 points, which included nine 3-pointers, but he was the only player to reach double figures for his team.

Saxony Lutheran will face Perryville in the championship game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
