The Bluejays emerged with the 57-55 victory in their Class 3 District 1 girls basketball semifinal Tuesday in Kennett, Mo.

Scott City, which finished the season 19-7, entered the final quarter with a five-point lead.

Stephanie Essner connected for four 3-pointers to lead the Rams with 20 points, while Katie Hogan added 11 points.

Stacey Heisserer added eight points in the loss.

St. Vincent outscored Valle Catholic by 13 points in the first half on its way to a 47-36 victory in quarterfinal action.

Kyle Rollet led the Indians (12-11) with 13 points, while Brock French added 12.

Adam Winkler netted 11 points in the win.

The Indians will play No. 1 seed Wellston on Thursday in the semifinals.
