Saxony Lutheran won the silver bracket of the SEMO Spikes Invitational volleyball tournament on Saturday at the Show Me Center.
The Crusaders defeated Clearwater 25-20, 25-7 in the title match.
Natalie Mueller had four kills, while Lauren Hecht had four kills. Kirsti Polhman had 16 assists and eight digs.
Saxony advanced to the championship match with victories over South Iron, Central and St. Elizabeth in bracket play.
The Crusaders won their first-round match 25-20, 25-7 against South Iron, then beat Central 25-7, 25-17 in the quarterfinals. A 30-28, 25-7 victory against St. Elizabeth followed in the semifinals.
Woodland defeated New Madrid 25-15, 25-19 in the silver division consolation match.
Forest Park Festival
Notre Dame senior Breanna Conklin finished 32nd to turn in the best varsity finish among local competitors in the Green Division at the massive Forest Park Cross Country Festival on Saturday in St. Louis.
Conklin covered the 3.1-mile course in 19 minutes, 33 seconds.
"That's the fastest time we've ever had run by one of our kids there," Notre Dame coach Bill Davis said.
The Notre Dame girls placed 24th among the 34 teams in the event.
The Notre Dame boys finished 15th among the field of 34 teams, led by Michael Nelson, who placed 61st in 16:59.
Jackson's boys finished first in the 29-team, small-school White Division with 89 points.
Junior Gabe Underwood led the Indians with an 11th-place finish in 17:06.
Another highlight for Jackson was a first-place finish by Chelsea Drum in the freshman girls race. Drum in a freshman race record time of 11:23. The Indians also took first in the freshman team competition.

Advance's Braden Bien placed second in the boys competition to lead local competitors at the Arcadia Valley Invitational.
Bien clocked 17:57 to finish 28 seconds behind Valle Catholic's Nicholas Klein.
Advance finished third in the team standings.
Arcadia Valley won the competition with 41 points, while Woodland was second with 48.
The Cardinals had two top-10 finishers in Garret Reynolds (4th, 18:07) and Aaron Yount (8th, 18:31).
Also with top-10 finishes were Meadow Heights' Christopher Bollinger (5th, 18:15) and Advance's Curtis Gilliland (9th, 18:42).
Delta's Jamie Hodge (23:13) was the top local finisher in the girls race, placing ninth. Chaffee's Holly Rutherford (23:27) was one spot behind.

Notre Dame places fourth
The Bulldogs finished fourth in an 11-team field at the Lady Pirates Invitational at Metropolis (Ill.) Country Club.
Notre Dame had a team score of 370. Morgan Schumer led the Bulldogs with a 90. Amy Blattel followed with a 92, while Maddie Beussink carded a 98 and Maris Parker shot 100.
Host Massac County won with a 327.
Ladue Invitational
Notre Dame finished fifth in the 15-team Ladue Invitational with 205 points.
John Burroughs won the competition with 561 points. Jackson, led by a second-place finish by Kristian Troxel in the 100 IM, placed eighth with 121 points.
