All scores were reported to the Southeast Missourian on Saturday.

After a slow start in the first quarter, the ninth-seeded Saxony Lutheran boys basketball team erupted in the second half to stave off a valiant effort by the sixteenth-seeded Richland Rebels to advance to the consolation semifinals of the Bloomfield Christmas Tournament.

The Rebels held Saxony to a stalemate at halftime before a wild fourth quarter propelled the Crusaders to victory.

"We didn't shoot the ball well in the first half," Saxony coach Tim Winkler said, "but we forced them to make 32 turnovers. That's what saved us."

Graesen Meystedt scored 21 points to lead the Crusaders, who improved to 5-4 with the win. Elwood Voss recorded 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds while Paris Johnson and Corie Williams each tallied 12 points and six rebounds for Saxony. Chase Steffens dished out six assists for the Crusaders.

Preston Tilley bucketed a game-high 28 points, including six 3-pointers, for Richland, which fell to 2-6.

Saxony was sent to the consolation bracket after a 61-56 loss to eighth-seeded South Pemiscot in Friday's opening round. Steffens led with 14 points and Johnson tossed in 11 points to pace the Crusaders in the loss.

Saxony will face No. 13 East Prairie at 1 p.m. Monday in a consolation semifinal. The Eagles (5-4) downed No. 12 Holcomb (3-5) in a 70-41 upset in an earlier consolation quarterfinal on Saturday.
