All the local high school events reported Monday to the Southeast Missourian.

Senior Natalie Woods scored 13 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to help the Scott City girls basketball team to its first victory of the season, a 39-34 road win over East Prairie.

Senior Michaela Kiefer added 11 points and 17 rebounds, while senior Carly Howell had 10 points.

The Rams improved to 1-15, giving coach Travis Schiwitz his first win at the varsity level.

"I don't have a lot to say other than it just feels good to get the pressure off," Schiwitz said. "There were a lot of smiles."

Dakota Arnold scored a game-high nine points for East Prairie (2-14).

Kenzy Smith scored a game-high 21 points to lead Greenville (15-6).

Julia Sutterfield also notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, as well as six steals and six assists, for Chaffee (16-5). Jordan Pruitt added 15 points for the Red Devils.

Freshman Krista Rhodes netted a game-high 19 points to pace Woodland (9-9).

Four players reached double figures to lead the third-seeded Panthers to a win over the sixth-seeded Wildcats in the opening round of the Mississippi Valley Conference tournament in Greenville, Missouri.

Devin Wilfong and Tyler Cook each finished with 14 points to lead Meadow Heights (13-6) in scoring. Jacob Hunt added 13 points, and Justin McGuire contributed 10 points for the Panthers.

Blake Eeftink knocked down six 3-pointers and had 20 points for Leopold (2-16). Zach Elfrink also scored 20 points for the Wildcats.

Meadow Heights will take on No. 2 Zalma in a semifinal at 8:30 p.m. today.
