All the local high school action from Wednesday that was reported to the Southeast Missourian.

The Perryville volleyball team saw its season end prematurely Wednesday at the Class 3 District 2 tournament in De Soto, Mo.

The Pirates beat Ste. Genevieve in the first game 25-22 but dropped the next two 25-16, 25-18 in the semifinals.

Perryville, which was state-ranked earlier this season, finished the season 18-12.

Logan Johnson led the Pirates with eight digs, while Hannah Kutz chipped in five. Natalie Hagan put up three blocks.

Jackson 2, Saxony Lutheran 0

Andrew Mueller scored in the first half off an assist from Brandon Liebeknecht as the Indians earned the home win.

Brice Steger added an insurance run in the second half.

Cody Boehme recorded two saves as the Indians wrapped up the conference title in their regular-season finale.

The Indians earned the No. 2 seed in the Class 3 District 1 tournament. Jackson will face Central at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Even though Seckman is the host, games will be played at Hillsboro High School because of poor field conditions at Seckman.
