High school roundup: Perryville boys basketball team earns spot in Chester Invite title game

The Perryville boys basketball team reached the championship game at the Chester Invitational.

The Pirates knocked off New Athens, Ill., 54-43 in the semifinals Wednesday.

Bryce Weibrecht led the charge with 17 points, while Jared Thieret added 14.

Perryville (12-4) will face the winner of the Saxony Lutheran vs. Chester game in Saturday's 7 p.m. title game.
