High school roundup: Perryville boys basketball team avenges loss to Scott City

Conner Stark nailed a game-high 26 points as the Perryville Pirates boys basketball team sailed away with a 69-61 win over the host Scott City Rams on Friday.

Luke Schlichting had 12 points, and Eli Tripp grabbed seven rebounds for Perryville (12-6).

Dylan Keller sank 23 points, and Braden Cox chipped in 14 points for Scott City (13-6).

The Rams defeated the Pirates 60-49 in a semifinal of the Woodland Invitational Tournament earlier this season.

"He (Steffens) did a great job guarding [Jefferson's Mike Reed]," Saxony coach Tim Winkler said. "He usually averages 20.6 points a game, and we held him down to 10 points this game. So Chase did a really good job."

Cassidi Tomsu led Jackson (11-6) with 18 points, while Autumn Reid added 15 points. Rachel Crites and Rylee Stafford each contributed 10 points for the Indians.
