HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Parkway South girls soccer snaps Jackson's winning streak

Cassidi Tomsu and Grace Pehle each scored a goal as the Jackson girls soccer team's eight-game winning streak came to an end with a 3-2 loss against Parkway South on Monday in Jackson.

Lauren Welker provided one assist for Jackson (13-2).

Goalkeeper Sam Schnicker had seven saves.

Sarah Sadoma netted two goals and Maddie Dolan scored the other goal to lead the Patriots (7-6-1).

BASEBALL

Scott City 32, Woodland 0

Braden Cox smacked a home run, a double and got on base all of his five times at the plate as the host Rams demolished the Cardinals in four innings.

Cox was also the winning pitcher. He threw a complete game and recorded nine strikeouts and no walked batters.

Hunter Copeland reached base all three of his times at bat for the Rams (12-6).

Wyatt Allen suffered the loss on the mound for Woodland (3-12). He pitched two innings and allowed 10 earned runs on 11 hits.

Jordan Buchheit sustained the loss on the mound for St. Vincent (11-6). He pitched four innings and allowed eight earned runs on five hits. He recorded four strikeouts and walked five batters.

Steven Christian went the distance to get the win. He gave up one earned run, struck out seven and walked five.

Bret Ellis and Luke Marcum drove in two runs apiece to lead East Prairie (8-5).

Austin Copeland blasted a home run and drove in three runs to lead the Rams in the road win over the Bulldogs.

Alec Bogenpohl got the win on the mound for Chaffee (14-4). He pitched four innings and allowed one earned run on three hits with five strikeouts and three walks. Copeland got the save, pitching the final three innings in which he gave up two hits, struck out six and walked three batters.

Gabe Henson added two RBIs for the Red Devils.

Dalen Hutchison went the distance to endure the loss for Gideon (3-5). He allowed six earned runs, struck out five and walked three.

Drew Buchanan had a solo home run to score the only run for the Bulldogs.

Katelyn McGlaughlin tossed for three innings to get the win for Grandview (3-8). She gave up eight earned runs on eight hits, struck out five and walked seven. She also had a double and drove in three runs for the Eagles.

Peyton Doza carded a 9-over-par 45 to pace the Indians in a conference loss to the Black Cats at the Joachim Golf Club in Herculaneum, Missouri.

Herculaneum's Claire Shadowens finished two strokes ahead of Doza with a 43 to earn the medalist honors.
