All the local high school events reported Tuesday to the Southeast Missourian.

The Oran baseball team opened its season Tuesday with an 11-6 win at Bloomfield.

Kody Moore went 4 for 5 while Alex Heuring went 3 for 3 to lead Oran.

Seth Ressel, Blake Carlyle, Trenton Hency, Dalton Elfrink and Adam Schaefer all added two hits.

Elfrink was the winning pitcher.

The Indians suffered their first loss of the season at Ste. Genevieve.

Adam James homered and drove in three runs for Jackson (1-1), while Dylan Koehler went 3 for 5 with two doubles and three RBIs.

Alex Bolen, Steven Eddy and Lane Thompson all added two hits for the Indians.

Brett Dirnberger tripled and doubled as the Rams posted their first win of the season on the road.

Ryan Fortner and Austin Atchley also had two hits apiece for Scott City (1-1).

Hunter Cox was the winning pitcher and delivered two RBIs.

The Crusaders suffered their first loss of the season in eight innings on the road.

Jon Winkler pitched five innings for Saxony (1-1), allowing four earned runs on six hits while striking out three and walking three.

Trent Steffens pitched the final three innings and allowed one earned run. He struck out four and walked one.

Winkler, Steffens and Tyler Koenig each had two hits for Saxony.

Jared Yates notched the complete-game victory, striking out seven and allowing five hits.

Josh Overbey led the Cubs' offense with three hits. Yates and Brent Wondel added two hits apiece.

GIRLS SOCCER Jackson 9, O'Fallon Christian 0

The Indians opened their season with a home romp.

Jordan Myer, Hailey Mouser and Rachel Crites each scored two goals.

Mollie Crader, Hailey Callis and Alexa Kelpe netted a goal apiece.

Kelpe and Sara Thompson each contributed two assists.

Saxony Lutheran 2, Fredericktown 0

The Crusaders scored two goals in the first half to win their season opener.

Sarah Winningham had an unassisted goal off of a corner kick.

Abby Hadler scored the second goal on a pass from Regan Obermann.

Abby Goeckeler posted the shutout in goal.

Host Jackson squeezed out a victory in the season-opening match at Kimbeland Country Club.

Central's Cory Connell was the medalist with an even-par 35. Eli Pike led Jackson with a 36, and Gunner Knudtson paced Notre Dame with a 37.

Saxony Lutheran also participated but did not have enough golfers to post a team score.

The Panthers began their season with a wild road win.

Notre Dame sweeps

Notre Dame swept the season-opening quadrangular meet hosted by Central.

Notre Dame's boys scored 127 points, followed by Central (84), Scott City (46) and Dexter (7).

The Notre Dame girls totaled 107.5 points, followed by Dexter (80), Central (49.5) and Scott City (8).
