All the local high school events reported Thursday to the Southeast Missourian.

Brooke Bohnert scored her 1,000th career point in the Notre Dame girls basketball team's victory Thursday in the opening round of the Queen of Hearts tournament at Villa Duchesne High School.

Bohnert needed six points to reach the milestone. She scored a game-high 22 points in the Bulldogs' 45-37 win over Whitfield.

Halle Lynch grabbed 10 rebounds, while Shelby Beussink had five.

Karsen Powers and Miranda Fowler both had three steals for Notre Dame (9-9).

Allison Moldenhauer recorded three steals in the fourth quarter to help the Pirates earn the home win.

Moldenhauer added five assists in the contest.

Perryville went 9 of 23 from the free-throw line in the game, but it connected on 6 of 11 in the fourth quarter.

Natalie Gremaud scored 11 points and snared eight rebounds for the Pirates (7-11).

Josie Long led the Cardinals with 13 points, while Kendra Pinkley added 12.
