All the local high school events reported Monday to the Southeast Missourian.

Southeast Missourian

The Notre Dame golf team won its own 12-team tournament for the third consecutive year, posting a 14-stroke victory at Bent Creek Golf Course on Monday.

Led by a 2-over-par 74 by junor Jack Litzelfelner and a 75 by sophomore Jonathan Bell, the Bulldogs totaled 313 to finish well ahead of runner-up Nixa to capture the championship of the 16th Annual Notre Dame Invitational at the Bent Creek Golf Course on Monday.

Jackson, paced by a 78 by senior Eli Pike, finished one stroke behind Nixa in third place at 328.

Sikeston's Gabe Wheeler finished one stroke ahead of Litzelfelner to claim the medalist honor. Litzelfelner, the Class 3 state champion as a freshmaan and all-state as a sophomore, finished second and was followed by Bell in the standings. Notre Dame senior Jon Renner tied for seventh with an 80, while senior Trent Schumer rounded out the Bulldogs' team score with an 80.

Central, led by an 80 from junior Kobe Franklin, placed 10th with a 373.

Hunter Schlosser took the loss. He pitched 2 2/3 innings and gave up nine runs --five earned-- on five hits with two strikeouts and four walks.

Jamie Glastetter took the loss. She pitched six innings and allowed 11 earned runs on 14 hits with three strikeouts and four walks.

Junior Brooke Hogard scored three second-half goals as the Pirates rallied for a road victory over the Wildcats.

Anna-Jonesboro took a 1-0 lead into the second half, but Hogard need only about two minues to tie the score. She gave the Pirates the lead for good about six minutes later.

Daria Thompson, Alex Spears and Kylie Bilek assisted on the goals.

Miranda Stortz made four saves in goal for Perryville (4-1).

Chaffee Open

The Malden boys captured first place in 11 events to post a dominating win at the six-team Chaffee Open.

The Green Wave swept the relays and won all but one of the field events to be the only team to finish in triple digits in the team points. Scott City took first in three events to finish a distant second. The host Red Devils were paced by Logan Chapman's two first-place finishes in the 100 and 200 dashes.

On the girls' side, Chaffee took first in five events to beat Malden by 25 points. Oran placed first in four events to finish eight points behind the Green Wave for third place. Kaylen Glastetter recorded first-place finishes in two events for the Eagles.
