The top-seeded host Notre Dame girls soccer team downed third-seeded St. Pius X 3-1 to win the Class 2 District 1 championship Wednesday.

Notre Dame (16-6) moves on to face Notre Dame (St. Louis) in a state sectional on May 21. The second-seeded Rebels (7-13) upset top-seeded Lutheran South 2-0 on Tuesday to win the Class 2 District 2 title.

St. Pius X concludes its season with a record of 14-8-2.

Northwest (Cedar Hill) 1, Jackson 0

The second-seeded Lions scored the lone goal with eight seconds left in regulation to end the top-seeded Indians' season in a heartbreaking loss in the Class 4 District 1 championship at Fox High School in Arnold, Missouri.

Jackson ends its season with a record of 19-3, with all three of its losses coming from St. Louis-area teams.

Northwest (15-11) will face St. Joseph's Academy in a state sectional on May 24.

BASEBALL

Greenville 10, Chaffee 0

Landon Tenkhoff had two of his team's five hits, as the third-seeded Red Devils' season came to an end in six innings against the state-ranked and top-seeded Bears in the Class 2 District 3 championship at Notre Dame Regional High School.

Breven Yarbro took the loss on the mound for the Red Devils. He pitched one inning and allowed four runs (two earned) on four hits. He had one strikeout and walked no batters.

Trey McDaniel went the distance to get the win for Greenville. He recorded 12 strikeouts and walked two batters.

Ben Becker had a double and two RBIs to lead the Bears' offense.

Chaffee wraps up its season with a record of 18-9.

Greenville (20-2) advances to take on two-time defending Class 2 state champion Valle Catholic in a state sectional on May 23 in Ste. Genevieve. The Warriors (30-2) knocked off Barat Academy 10-0 to win the Class 2 District 4 tournament on Tuesday in New Haven.

Cole Priggel blasted a triple and drove in three runs, as the second-seeded Eagles easily disposed of the sixth-seeded Wildcats in five innings to reach the Class 1 District 2 championship in Advance, Missouri.

Drew Reischmann pitched a no-hitter for three innings to get the win for Oran. He recorded five strikeouts and no walks.

Preston Hahn added a double and three RBIs for the Eagles.

Garrett Thele was the losing pitcher. He threw 1 1/3 innings and gave up eight runs (six earned) on six hits. He walked two batters and had no strikeouts. Leopold ends its season with a record of 5-15.

Oran (14-8) moves on to face defending Class 1 champion and top-seeded Bell City (19-3) at 4:30 p.m. today for the title. The Cubs fell to the Eagles in a 5-3 decision 10 days ago.
