High school roundup: Notre Dame boys basketball team extends winning streak to 9 games

Quinn Poythress scored a game-high 31 points and snagged seven rebounds as the Notre Dame boys basketball team won its ninth consecutive game with an 82-63 conference victory at home over Kennett.

The Bulldogs held a one-point lead at halftime but outscored the Indians by 14 points in the third quarter.

Thomas Himmelberg recorded 11 points, five rebounds and five steals for Notre Dame (12-3). Tanner Shively chipped in 10 points and Trent Schumer notched five steals for the Bulldogs.

Jad Kenny netted 19 points and Rantrell Caruthers added 16 points to pace Kennett (6-9).

Connor Stark scored 16 points as the Pirates defeated the host Yellowjackets to reach the title game of Chester Invitational Tournament in Chester, Illinois.

Jason Schwartz sank a game-high 18 points and Savion Smith tossed in 11 points for Chester (10-7).
