The Notre Dame girls golf team shot an 18-hole school record in winning the Massac County Invitational on Saturday at the Metropolis Country Club in Metropolis, Illinois.
The Bulldogs, led by junior medalist Sarah Bell, finsished with a 322 total, which was 20 strokes better than runner-up McCracken County (Paducah, Ky.) in the seven-team event.
Bell shot a 2-under 69 to lead a 1-2-3 finish by the Bulldogs. Junior Allison Bray shot a 79, while Taryn Overstreet placed third at 83. Haley Taylor rounded out the Notre Dame score with a 98.
The Bulldogs return to action Tuesday when they compete at the Rockwood Summit Invitational at The Falls Golf Club in O'Fallon, Mo.
Josh Scholl recorded two goals and one assist as a week's long hiatus from the green proved inconsequential for the Indians in the victory over the Dragons on the road in the St. Louis area.
Justice Crosnoe added one goal and one assist for Jackson (2-0) while Drew Brown and Colton Weber each had one goal. The two other goals were owned goals. Caleb Dameron, Liam Gray and Desmond Morris dished out one assist apiece for the Indians.
Goalkeeper Brayden Emmons had five saves.
Matthew Brozovich netted the lone goal for St. Mary's (0-2).
Dragons goalkeeper Jacob Aug had 13 saves.

Perryville quickly rebounded following its first loss of the season, a 2-0 heartbreaker to Waterloo, Ill., in the semifinals to bounce back and blank host Carbondale, Ill., 3-0 to take third place in the 5th Annual Greg Kline Invitational Tournament.
Isaac Ellsworth, Cole Gerstenberger and Trey Hyde netted the goals for the Pirates (3-1) in the victory over the Terriers (2-2) to clinch third place.
Philip Most scored both goals to lead Waterloo (3-0-1) to victory in the semifinal.
On the consolation side of the bracket, Cape Girardeau Central's Ethan Hutson had the lone goal in the Tigers' 1-0 semifinal win over Central (Breese, Ill.). The Tigers then faced Sikeston for the consolation championship and won 2-1 to clinch the title. Kaya Newkirk and Zach Morningstar each had a goals for Cape Central (3-1). Matthew Menz netted the lone goal for the Bulldogs (2-2).
The Bulldogs were unable to claim victory in a single match in the loss at home to the Bombers.
Notre Dame fell to 2-2 with the loss while John Burroughs College Preparatory improved to 3-0.

Cape Girardeau Central took the gold in two events to finish in third place at the Marquette Relays in the suburban St. Louis area.
The Tigers won the 300 butterfly and 300 backstroke relays. Two-time reigning Semoball Boys Swimmer Brogan Davis and Reagan Ragsdale were on both packs that won the relays. Truman Vines joined to help the Tigers win the 300 butterfly with a time of 2 minutes, 41.71 seconds. Jacob Bening assisted Davis and Ragsdale in the 300 backstroke to help propel the Tigers to a first-place time of 2 minutes, 39.92 seconds. Bening also received a state cut in the backstroke event, his first. Davis also set a state cut in the individual medley for the Tigers.
Central also won a dual with Parkway South on Friday. The Tigers captured first in 10 out of the 12 events to defeat the Patriots by a score of 111-72.
