All of the area high school events reported Wednesday to the Southeast Missourian.

Top-seeded Leopold won the snow-delayed championship game of the Mississippi Valley Conference tournament Wednesday night with a 51-41 victory over Oak Ridge at Chaffee High School.

The Wildcats trailed by seven points at halftime but outscored the Blue Jays 30-13 in the second half. Leopold overtook Oak Ridge in the third quarter, where it held a 14-4 scoring edge.

John Bohnsack netted 13 points to lead Leopold, while Anthony Seabaugh scored 11 and David Fluchel tallied 10.

Garret Light scored 13 points for Oak Ridge before he fouled out. Brett Thomas added 11 points and Caleb Elam had 10.

The championship game had been scheduled for last Friday, but the game was postponed due to snow.

James Lane and Terrance Howard posted double-doubles for Central, which bounced back from a loss a night earlier to Jackson with a victory at home.

Lane scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Howard netted 15 points and recorded 10 steals for the Tigers (13-7).

Jillian Mills scored 16 points and Heather Dietiker had 15 as the Panthers (13-7) won at home.

Dietiker had three 3-pointers, as did teammate Hattie Cook, who finished with 11 points.

Katie Hogan, who battled foul problems with Stephanie Essner, paced Scott City (15-4) with 10 points. Essner fouled out with eight points.
