The Leopold baseball team scored the winning run on an error in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Oak Ridge 4-3 on Thursday.

The Wildcats put runners on first and second with no outs before the Blue Jays induced a grounder back to the pitcher, who threw wildly to first base to end the game.

Oak Ridge's Ryan Below scored on a passed ball in the top of the seventh to tie the game.

Mark VanGennip earned the win for Leopold. He struck out four and hit four batters over seven innings.

Dakota Zoellner took the loss despite striking out 10.

Martin (1-0) struck out six, walked one and hit one batter for his first win of the season.

Tyler Blessing had a triple among his two hits, while Jake Dobbelare went 3 for 3 for Perryville (12-4).

Cox struck out two and walked three over the first two innings before Pobst fanned four and walked one over the next two innings. Dirnberger struck out two in the fifth to nail down the no-hitter.

Logan Henson went 2 for 3 with four RBIs, while Ryan Fortner added a pair of hits and two RBIs. Austin Atchley also plated a pair for the Rams (8-6).

Freshman Jordan Nelson scored two minutes into overtime to lift the Bulldogs to a road win.

Taylor Rinda scored two goals, and Madeline Rosenquist had one during the first half, which ended with Notre Dame (9-5) ahead 3-2.

Goalkeeper Madison Buelow made 11 saves for the Bulldogs.

Chaffee Invitational

The host Red Devils swept the team titles.

Chaffee's Lyndsey Statler won the 1,600, while teammate Holly Rutherford finished second.

Kelly's Sam Ratledge won the long jump and triple jump to pace the Hawks girls team.

The Red Devils won the 3,200 relay and took second in the 400, 800 and 1,600 relays on the boys side.

Saxony Lutheran's Jeremy Engelhart won the 110 and 300 hurdles.
