All the local high school events reported Tuesday to the Southeast Missourian.

Southeast Missourian

The Kelly baseball team scored the tying run in the bottom of the seventh inning and the winning run in the eighth for a 6-5 victory over visiting St. Vincent on Tuesday.

Jonathon Tyler got the win on the mound in relief. He pitched 2 2/3 innings and gave up no runs on one hit with three strikeouts.

Kyle Fitzgerald added a double for Kelly (2-6).

Lance Neumann took the loss. He pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs on two hits with three strikeouts and no walks.

Ethan Pecaut had a double and two RBIs for St. Vincent (3-3).

Bernie 3, Bell City 0

Bernie's Devin Trammell threw a no-hitter as the state-ranked Mules dealt the Cubs their first loss of the season.

Trammell recorded eight strikeouts and two walks in going the distance.

Alex Guzman went 2 for 3 at the plate and drove in one run to lead Bernie (6-0). The Mules are ranked sixth in Class 2 in the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association poll.

Peyton Maddox took the loss. He pitched six innings and gave up three runs -- two earned -- on six hits. He walked four and had no strikeouts for Bell City (6-1).

SOFTBALL

Leopold 15, Zalma 2

The Wildcats only needed five innings to dispose of the Bulldogs in the road rout.

Lexi Vandeven picked up the win in the circle and also doubled at the plate. She recorded 10 strikeouts.

Leah Landewee blasted a triple to lead Leopold (6-0).

Jenny Pullam sustained the loss. She had one strikeout and also hit a double to pace Zalma (0-4).

Madison Cover, the losing pitcher, had a triple to pace Woodland (4-5).

TRACK & FIELD

Festus Invitational

Notre Dame's Devin Ziegler posted first-place finishes in the 200 and 400 meters to help the Bulldogs to a fourth-place finish at the Tiger Town Invitational in Festus.

Ziegler won the 200 in 23.15 seconds and the 400 run in 51.42. The Bulldogs also finished second in the 1,600 and 3,200 relays.

Jackson finished seventh. Ty Crowden won the 300 hurdles with a time of 42.39 seconds, and Braden Wendel took second in the high jump to lead the Indians.

Central's Jalen Reddin finished second in the triple jump to pace the Tigers, who did not place in the team standings.

On the girls' side, Jackson's Chelsea Drum posted a first-place finish in the 1,600 run with a time of 5 minutes, 14.63 seconds. Drum also took second in the 800 for the Indians, who placed fifth.

Central's Tramonee Stewart won the long jump with a distance of 16 feet, 4 inches to lead the Tigers, who finished third.
