Holly Blandford scored a goal and assisted on another to the lead the St. Vincent girls soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Sikeston in their first first-round game in the Cape Girardeau Noon Optimist tournament at Central High School.

Brooke Munier scored the other goal with an assist from Holly Cissell to give the Indians the win.

Monica Carter scored the lone goal for the Bulldogs.

St. Vincent (2-1) will face Marion, Ill., today at 5 p.m. in a championship semifinal. The Wildcats knocked off Notre Dame (0-3) 2-0 Thursday to advance. Notre Dame and Sikeston will square off at 5 p.m. in a consolation semifinal.

Also, Jackson rolled over Poplar Bluff 5-0 and Perryville knocked off Central 5-1. The Indians and Pirates will play at 6:45 in a championship semifinal, while the Mules and Tigers will kick off at 6:45 p.m. in a consolation semifinal.

Ashlyn Bucher belted a home run and drove in two runs to help the Wildcats pick up their second win on the road.

Shelbee Miller smacked a triple and went 4 for 4 for Leopold (2-0). Denai Arnzen hit a three-run double, while Dana Thiele went 2 for 3 at the plate and batted in four runs.

Caitlin Petty was the winning pitcher.

Jamie DeSpain's double drove in two runs to lead the Panthers (0-1) in their season debut.

Hannah Clark smashed three doubles to lead the host Hornets in their first win of the season.

Advance (1-1) scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game at 16-16 and force extra innings. The Hornets scored a run in the bottom of the eighth inning for the win.

Clark was the winning pitcher and also went 3 for 5 at the plate.

Brittany Brown and Riley Rickman had two doubles apiece to pace the Bearcats (0-1).

Chase Steffens suffered his first loss on the mound. The sophomore pitcher struck out three batters and walked only one.

Brandon Coleman was the winning pitcher for the Lancers with six strikeouts and one walk.
