All the local high school events reported Saturday to the Southeast Missourian.

Freshman Aaron Voshage scored at the 9:15 mark of the first overtime, and the Jackson boys soccer team kept its season alive with a 2-1 victory over Poplar Bluff in the Class 3 District 1 tournament Saturday at Mehlville High School in St. Louis.

The fifth-seeded Mules had taken a 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal by Jose Ventura.

"In the first half we had a lot of opportunities but didn't score," Jackson coach Zack Walton said.

The fourth-seeded Indians broke through about 20 minutes into the second half when senior Keagan Cavanah intercepted a clearing attempt near the top of the penalty box and rifled in a shot to tie the score at 1-1.

Jackson will face top-seeded Oakville in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Oakville High School.

Class 1 District 1

Saxony Lutheran 4, Fredericktown 3

Logan Sprandel scored two goals and assisted on another as the second-seeded Crusaders advanced to the championship game of the Class 1 District 1 tournament in Festus, Mo.

Hunter Coe and Anthony Etzold added goals for Saxony, while Zach Beal had two assists and Collin Sprandel had one.

Saxony will play top-seeded St. Pius for the title at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
