No champion was crowned at the Jackson Invitational softball tournament after rain wiped out the first- and third-place games Saturday evening.

Central defeated Scott City 9-3 to win fifth place earlier in the day at the Shawnee Parks Sports Complex in Cape Girardeau.

The third-place matchup between host Jackson and Kelly and the championship game between Notre Dame and Festus were postponed. Jackson and Kelly agreed to use their regular season game on Oct. 1 to determine the third place winner.

The championship game will not be rescheduled, according to Jackson coach Amanda Forester.

BOYS SOCCER

Notre Dame 5, Hillsboro 0

Luke Mocherman scored a goal and had an assist to lead the Bulldogs to the win at home.

Carson Bruenderman, Matthew Parsons, Jake Janet and Jake Powderly also scored for Notre Dame. Logan Buchheit, Kenrick Niedbalski and Riley Bauer recorded assists.

Goalkeeper Thomas Himmelberg snagged five saves for the Bulldogs (5-2).

JV -- Notre Dame won 7-0.

GIRLS TENNIS

Jackson 9, Mehlville 0

The Jackson girls tennis team won both of its matches at a quad meet Saturday at Southeast Missouri State University.

The undefeated Indians swept Mehlville and Oakville 9-0 to improve to 12-0.
