Connor Shepard netted a game-high 20 points as the Jackson boys basketball team picked up its first home win of the season, a 78-50 victory over state-ranked Park Hills Central on Thursday..

Blake Reynolds sank 18 points and Jacob Smith added 11 points for Jackson (12-5).

Colin Bess tallied 12 points to pace the Class 3 Rebels (14-2), who sustained just their second loss of the season.

Brianna Mueller netted 16 points as the state-ranked Crusaders staved off a scare from Central to remain undefeated with the road win.

The Tigers managed to outscore the Crusaders in every quarter but the second, which proved key to Saxony Lutheran's victory.

"We played well the entire game," Central coach Sherri Shirrell said. "We switched up our offense and defense. We knew we had to slow down their offense."

Sydney Tollison led Central with 16 points, three steals and three assists while Kassidy Pannier recorded 13 points, four rebounds and three assists. Bailey Manley grabbed seven rebounds for the Tigers (5-9).

Raegan Wieser tallied 12 points and Grace Mirly added 10 points for Saxony Lutheran (18-0).
