Hunter Asher carded a seven-over-par 79 to help lead the Jackson boys' golf team to a second-place finish at Tuesday's Class 4 District 1 Tournament held at the Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, Mo.

The Indians edged Lindbergh by one stroke for second place and to qualify for the sectional meet, which will be held at the Algonquin Golf Club in the suburban St. Louis area.

Ty LeGrand and Tanner Walton both shot an 82 to finish in the Top 10 individually for Jackson. The Indians finished eight strokes behind district champion St. John Vianney.

Lindbergh's Christopher Ferris recorded a 76 to earn the medalist honors.

Cooper Crosnoe pitched 5 2/3 innings to take the loss for Central (12-9). He gave up one earned run, struck out four and walked one batter.

Paris Johnson was the winning pitcher and also doubled for Saxony Lutheran (12-6). He threw a complete game and allowed one earned run. He recorded 11 strikeouts and walked two batters.

Nathan Bolin suffered the loss on the mound for Oak Ridge (4-16).

Freshman Kaileigh Dirden had yet another big day at the plate and in the circle to lead the top-seeded Rams in the semifinal rout of the fourth-seeded host Cardinals in the Class 1 District 4 Tournament.

Dirden blasted a home run, a double and drove in three runs for Scott City. She also pitched a no-hitter for the entire game and recorded nine strikeouts and one walk. Britney Parker smacked a three-run home run for the Rams and Jamie Glastetter added two doubles and two RBIs.

Krista Rhodes threw 3 1/3 innings to take the loss for Woodland. She allowed 13 earned runs on 14 hits and had two strikeouts and three walked batters. The Cardinals ended their season with a record of 12-8.

Scott City (19-2) will face conference foe and second-seeded Oran (10-6) for the district championship at 4 p.m. today.

Corin Carroll netted the game-winning goal on an assist from Kalli Seabaugh as the Indians picked up a vengeful victory on the road.

Goalkeeper Courtney Brewer made 15 saves in the shutout for St. Vincent (11-7).

Claire Landewee had seven saves in the post for Notre Dame (12-5). The Bulldogs beat the Indians twice in the two teams' earlier encounters.

Jackson 9, Cape Central 0

Megan Hawk recorded three goals and one assist to lead the Indians in the road win over their archrivals.

Natalie Miller and Cassidi Tomsu had one goal and one assist apiece for Jackson (15-2). Grace Pehle and Lauren Welker netted two goals each for the Indians while Taylor Nelson and Randa Norman each had an assist.

Goalkeepers Sam Schnicker and Abby Hermann combined for four saves in the shutout.

The Tigers fell to 3-13-1 with the loss.

Arcadia Valley 5, Notre Dame 4

The Bulldogs fell one match short in the regular-season finale loss to the Tigers at home.

Notre Dame dropped its record to 3-7 while Arcadia Valley improved to 9-4.

Carter Dame recorded three kills and John Scherer added two kills for Notre Dame (10-11). Evan Landewee dished out eight assists for the Bulldogs.

Affton improved to 26-0-1 with the win.
