Pete Lake poured in a game-high 21 points to lead the Jackson boys basketball team to a 62-41 victory over Rockwood Summit in the Indians' second round-robin game at the Dave Sinclair Memorial Invitational on Friday at Lindbergh High School in the suburban St. Louis area.

Jacob Smith added 16 points, and Jonathan Friess chipped in 14 points for Jackson (8-6). The Indians held a two-point lead at halftime before rallying in the second half to outscore the Falcons by 19 points.

Jackson Rutledge tallied 12 points for Rockwood Summit (2-11).

The Indians downed Lift for Life Academy 56-41 in their first game of the tournament on Thursday.

The winning streak didn't last long for the Bobcats in the lopsided conference road loss to the Bulldogs.

Cole Shelby bucketed a game-high 16 points to lead Zalma (6-5, 2-0 Mississippi Valley Conference), which held the Bobcats to single digits in each quarter. Peyton Ford had 12 points, and Luke Robertson tossed in 11 points for the Bulldogs, who posted a 38-point lead at halftime.

Quentin Little had eight points to pace Delta (1-10, 0-3), which snapped a 53-game losing streak three days prior to Friday's loss.

Dawson Dohogne recorded 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Bulldogs managed to squeeze out a narrow win in overtime over the Yellowjackets to advance to the consolation title game of the Houlihan's Fightin' Irish Invitational at Springfield Catholic in Springfield, Missouri.

Blake Bauwens tallied 14 points, five steals and four rebounds for Notre Dame (6-7), which trailed by three points at halftime before tying the game up at 50-all at the end of the second half to force overtime. Winston Welter had nine points, five assists and three steals, and Ross Essner dished out six assists for the Bulldogs.

Peyton Maddox nailed a game-high 32 points to lead the Cubs in the high-fouling conference victory at home over the winless Rebels.

Cole Nichols added 15 points for Bell City (8-5, 2-1 SCAA Conference), which led 40-14 at halftime. The Cubs got 30 of their total 73 points at the charity stripe, as both times combined for a total of 49 fouls.

Student Recreation Center (SRC) Relays

The Poplar Bluff girls swimming team won four of out the 10 events to win the Student Recreation Center (SRC) Relays at the Southeast Aquatics Center.

The Mules, which finished 12 points ahead of Notre Dame in the team standings, set a state cut in the 200 freestyle relay (Raegan McAtee, Morgan McAtee, Kaylee Harris and Taylor Norwood).

The Bulldogs won the 900 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay to finish in second place and 10 points ahead of Cape Central, which won three events. The Tigers broke the meet record in two of those events -- the 300 backstroke and 300 breaststroke. Molly Phegley, Allison McDonald and Josey Powell set a first-place time of 3 minutes, 26.75 seconds in the 300 backstroke to break the meet record of 3:27.81 that Notre Dame set at last year's meet. Phegley, McDonald and Powell also broke the meet record in the 300 breaststroke relay with a time of 3:51.70, breaking the record of 3:59.55 that Cape Central set in 2011.

Jackson won the 400 freestyle relay and finished fourth with 58 points, 30 points ahead of Farmington in fifth place, and the Perryville/St. Vincent cooperative team rounded out sixth place with 10 points.
