Notre Dame wins SRC Relays

The Notre Dame girls swimming team won three relays -- one less relay than Poplar Bluff -- but did so in convincing fashion to outpace the Mules by 16 points and capture first place at Friday's Student Recreation Center (SRC) Relays on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.

Notre Dame won the 200 freestyle, 900 freestyle and 300 backstroke relays and broke the meet record previously set by Jackson in 2009 with its first-place finish in the 300 backstroke relay. The Bulldogs also shattered the meet records with their second-place times in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.

Poplar Bluff won four events and set two state-qualifying times in the 400 freestyle and 200 medley relays. The Mules also broke the meet record with their first-place finish in the 300 butterfly that was previously set by Jackson in 2011.

Saxony Lutheran won two events but was edged out by Central in the team standings to finish fourth. The Tigers won the 300 breaststroke relay and finished third.
