All the local high school events reported Friday to the Southeast Missourian.

Saxony Lutheran pushed across a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to escape with a win against Bell City in baseball action Friday.

The Cubs rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh to forge a tie.

But the Crusaders scored in the bottom half of the inning to pull out the 9-8 win.

Trent Steffens and Spencer Sander both drove in three runs for Saxony Lutheran (7-1). Steffens went 4 for 5.

Austin Mickan drove in two runs for the victors.

Alan Michael Hess and Eddie Dembowski both went 3 for 4 in the loss.

C.J. McAlister recorded nine strikeouts in the Cardinals' home win in six innings.

Neil Johnson blasted a home run and had three RBIs, while Ben McCormick tripled for Woodland (4-2).

David Gray had a double and two RBIs, and Devon Ritter went 2 for 3 with a double in the win.

The Indians dropped their second consecutive game, this time against a district foe.

Katie Mattingly recorded six saves in goal for St. Vincent (6-2).

The Indians will play at Notre Dame on Tuesday.

Jackson 2, Ft. Zumwalt South 0

Alex Sotak netted one goal and assisted on the other in the Indians' victory at the Parkway Showcase.

Hailey Mouser added a goal, while Brooke Sanders recorded the shutout in goal for Jackson (6-0).

Kelly Welker captured medalist honors for the Indians with a 6-over-par 41 at Perryville County Club.

Collin Sprandel paced the Crusaders with a 43.
