All the local high school events reported Friday to the Southeast Missourian.

Gabe Henson recorded a game-high 15 points and dished out three assists as the Chaffee boys basketball team picked up its first win of the season, a 64-41 triumph on the road over the Marquand Tigers on Friday.

"It feels pretty good," Chaffee coach Josh Govreau said. "Our kids played really well from start to finish. We were in control from the beginning."

Austin Copeland scored 13 points and Alec Bogenpohl tossed in 12 points for Chaffee (1-6, 1-1 Mississippi Valley Conference). Landon Tenkhoff notched 10 points and seven rebounds and Jordan Wilburn grabbed 14 rebounds for the Red Devils. The win snapped a 27-game losing streak for Chaffee, which did not win a single game last season.

Daniel Snider scored 12 points to pace Marquand (4-3, 0-1).

Kennett's Jad Kenny poured in a game-high 16 points as the Indians downed the Rams on the road.

Carlos Turner, Patrick Maddox and Edward Wilson added 10 points apiece for Kennett (3-5). The Indians held a four-point lead at halftime before a strong second half in which the Indians outscored the hosts by 26 points.

Trent Pobst and Ty Wilthong contributed 10 points each for Scott City (3-2).

Jacob Douglas netted a game-high 27 points as a strong fourth quarter helped propel the Panthers to victory on the road over the Blue Jays.

Devon Wilfong sank 20 points for Meadow Heights (5-1). The Panthers trailed by four points at halftime and tied the score in the third quarter before rallying to outscore the hosts by 15 points in the final quarter to get the win.

Preston Sumpter recorded 15 points and Collin Blount netted 12 points to pace Viburnum (4-4).
