McKenzie Bess nailed seven kills to help the Central volleyball team claw out a close 25-20, 21-25, 25-20 victory over host Scott City (2-24-1) on Tuesday night.
Kacee Anderson served five aces and Callie Callis recorded six digs for Central (6-24).
The Central junior varsity also recorded a win, beating the Rams 25-21, 25-23.
Raegan Wieser had four kills in the Crusaders' road win over the Eagles (7-10-5).
Amber Bergman and Courtney Bergman each added three kills for Saxony Lutheran (18-12-1). Breanna Mueller dished out 10 assists and notched nine digs while Kirsti Pohlman contributed six assists. Maddie Brune had six digs and served four aces.
The Crusaders will wrap up the regular season against Central tomorrow.
JV -- Saxony Lutheran won 25-13, 25-18.
Caitlin Petty slammed eight kills and recorded seven assists and two blocks as the host Wildcats pounced to victory over the Indians (17-13) on Senior Night.
Senior Denai Arnzen tallied eight digs and seven kills while senior Sydney Eeftink dished out 14 assists, served two aces and had three digs for Leopold (28-4).
The Wildcats will travel to Notre Dame tomorrow to finish the regular season.
JV -- Puxico won in two sets.
Taylor Feeney had 10 kills to lead the Bulldogs in a road win over the Eagles (18-10-2).
Lydia Goodson added six kills and Annie Siebert tallied four kills for Notre Dame (29-2-1). Karsen Powers recorded 17 digs.
Kaitlin Welter served six aces, her third game in a row where she served more than five aces.
The Bulldogs will host Class 1 powerhouse Leopold for Senior Night tomorrow. Should the junior varsity squad win, the Bulldogs will have had an undefeated season, according to Notre Dame coach Tara Stroup, who said it would be a first for her in her 13 years as coach.
