All the local high school results reported Thursday to the Southeast Missourian.

The Central girls soccer team beat visiting Festus 1-0 on Thursday.

Kristen Begley's first-half goal provided the winning margin as Central improved to 4-11. Morghan Edwards assisted.

Apple Thomas recorded five saves in the nets for the shutout.

JV -- Central won 4-0

Perryville 3, DeSoto 0

Courtney Borden netted two goals and Katelyn Lukefahr scored once in the Pirates' home win.

Megan Moldenhauer, Sam Amberger and Allie Moldenhauer each had an assist in Perryville's final regular-season contest.

Natalie Bauwens recorded four saves in goal.

St. Vincent 3, Hillsboro 0

Val Smith scored two goal and Storm French added one in the Indians' road win.

Courtney Heberlie assisted on Smith's first goal and Kelci Besand assisted on Smith's second.

The game was scoreless at halftime.

Freshman Katie Mattingly recorded six saves to post the shutout.

St. Vincent, which concluded the regular season 17-4, opens Class 1 District 1 play Saturday against Saxony Lutheran at 12:30 p.m. at St. Pius.

BASEBALL

Notre Dame 8, North County 5

Notre Dame freshman Ross James picked up his first varsity win as the Bulldogs closed their regular season with a win at home.

James pitched four innings and struck out four, allowing no earned runs.

Jonathan Lynch went 3 for 4 with a triple to lead the Bulldogs (16-4), while Eric Hayes also had a triple.

The Pirates ended the regular season with a win over perennial power Valle.

Dustin Thompson pitched six innings for the victory, allowing just a first-inning run. He struck out three and walked three.

Ross Moldenhauer worked the final inning for a save.

Jake Dobbelare led the Pirates (14-7) with two hits.

Kelby Brown had a triple for the Blue Jays (13-5), while Cody Myers and Brett Thomas both had a double. Myers had two hits.

Collin Schabbing had a double, while Dallas Naramore had two hits for the Bobcats.

Zach Riegert suffered the loss.

John Bohnsack recorded the win on the mound, pitching two innings and striking out three.

Jonathan Petzoldt suffered the loss for the Indians (3-15).

Delta's Myra Henson picked up her 10th win in the circle for the visiting Bobcats (10-2), who ended the season with a six-inning victory.

Henson struck out 11 and walked seven, allowing two earned runs in going all six innings.

Henson also tripled and had three RBIs.

Samantha Bartels had a double, while Macey Parks went 2 for 2 with six stolen bases. Chasity Taylor added two hits.

BOYS TENNIS

Class 4, District 1

Central finished second under the state's new format for team district play. Only the winner advanced to sectional competition.

The Tigers, seeded third for the five-team district in St. Louis, beat second-seeded Lindbergh 6-3 before falling to top-seeded Oakville 5-1.

Pablo Jaramillo won both his No. 1 singles matches for the Tigers.

Central will compete in the individual district tournament Saturday in St. Louis, taking two singles players and two doubles squads.
