The Central baseball team tuned up for district play by ending the regular season with a comeback victory.
Central scored two sixth-inning runs to slip past visiting Charleston 2-1 on Wednesday, marking the Tigers' fourth game in three days.
"They really battled. I was proud of the guys," said Central coach Steve Williams, whose squad improved to 13-9.
The Tigers had only two hits off Ethan Browning. They needed just one hit during the decisive sixth inning.
Trey Gardner was hit by a pitch and stole second with one out. Andrew Hileman walked and Ryan Siebert was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
Ramsey Scott's sacrifice fly tied the contest and Thomas Crocetti's RBI single was the eventual game-winner.
Crocetti had Central's other hit, a second-inning single, and was the winning pitcher with two scoreless innings of relief.
Starter Andrew Williams was charged with one run in 4 2/3 innings. Ronnie Scott recorded one out.
Charleston grabbed a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning. James Naile had two of the Bluejays' five hits.

The Rams ended their regular season with a home win.
Jamie Brant was the winning pitcher. Austin Atchley led the way with three hits, including two doubles.
Brant, Brett Dirnberger and Alex Eichhorn all added two hits for Scott City (11-8-1).
Dustin Johnson and Trey Johnson paced the Braves (10-7), who recently broke the school record for wins, with two hits.

The Crusaders finished their regular season with a 19-hit attack at home.
Spencer Sander had a big day for Saxony Lutheran (13-6). He had four hits, including a triple and two doubles, good for seven RBIs.
Ryan Sprandel went 4 for 4, with a triple and three RBIs for the Crusaders. Clay Roth had three hits, while Jon Winkler and Kris Cook both added two hits apiece.
Roth pitched 4 1/3 innings for the win.

The Eagles looked in good shape after taking a 3-0 lead after one inning, and still led 5-4 through three innings.
But the Mules scored nine runs over the next three innings to earn the road win.
Sophomore Kody Moore suffered the loss after giving up 11 runs, 10 earned, and striking out two over five innings. He did knock in a pair of runs in the loss.
Tyler Heuring, who homered, drove in two runs for Oran (18-2).

Dallas Naramore pitched a complete-game six-hitter, with five strikeouts and two walks, to lead the host Bobcats.
Naramore also had two hits and two RBIs.
Brooke Sanders recorded four saves in the road tie in the Indians' final regular-season game.
Jackson, which finished the regular season 15-1-1, will open Class 3 District 1 play Tuesday against the winner of Seckman vs. Central.
The Pirates saw their hopes of capturing a share of the conference title go by the wayside with the road loss.
Natalie Bauwens finished with five saves for Perryville (10-6).
Sydney Rapp scored twice to lead the Crusaders to victory.
Nicole Hemmann added Saxony Lutheran's other goal in its regular-season finale.
The Crusaders return to action in Class 1 District 1 action Saturday when they face St. Vincent at St. Pius.
