Brock Baugher threw six solid innings, and Jacquen Cummins secured a save, leading the Cape Central baseball team to a 5-2 victory over Cooter at the Easter Slam Tournament on Saturday in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Baugher allowed two hits and two runs -- both earned -- to pick up the win on the mound for the Tigers. He finished with eight strikeouts and three walks. Cummins pitched the seventh, retiring all three batters he faced.
Baugher also went 2 for 2 at the plate with a double and two RBIs. Ryan Tegel finished 2 for 3 with two RBIs for Central (3-3), while Kaleb Ward contributed a double.
Austin Phelps was tagged with the pitching loss for the Wildcats. He went allowed eight hits and five runs -- three earned -- in six innings of work, finishing with five strikeouts and three walks.

The host Trojans scored four runs in the fifth inning to edge out the victory over the Tigers at the Easter Slam Tournament.
Qualon Goff-Smith picked up the pitching win for Dyersburg. He pitched a complete game, scattering seven hits and allowing five runs (two earned). He had one walk and no strikeouts.
Austin Purvis and D.J. Swift each went 2 for 3 to lead the Trojans at the plate, while Goff-Smith added a double.
Drake Mills took the loss for Central (3-4), giving up seven hits and six runs (five earned) in 4 2/3 innings of work. He struck out three and walked one.
