All the local high school events reported Monday to the Southeast Missourian.

Bernie avenged a conference tournament loss to Woodland with a 25-22, 25-18 win at home in volleyball action Monday night.

Krista Rhodes recorded 12 kills, eight digs and three blocks for Woodland, which fell to 18-8-2 overall and 2-3 in the SCAA Conference.

Whitney Lincoln dished out eight assists, and Madison Cover tallied seven assists and two blocks for the Cardinals. Chelsea Cureton finished with 21 digs, Kandyce Mifflin added eight digs, and Kelsee Long contributed three blocks and two kills. The Cardinals upset the Mules 25-13, 25-15 in the semifinals of the SCAA Conference Tournament last week.

Bernie improved to 18-8-2 overall and finished 5-2 in regular-season conference play.

JV -- Woodland won 25-19, 25-20

Poplar Bluff 25 25, Cape Central 16 21

The Tigers were unable to fend off the visiting Mules and wrapped up the regular season with a conference loss at home.

Cape Central fell to 3-19-4 overall and 2-5 in the SEMO Conference, while Poplar Bluff improved to 16-11-1 overall and 4-1 in the conference.

Both teams will compete in the inaugural SEMO Conference Tournament today, which will be held at Cape Central and Notre Dame. Sikeston and Jackson will join the three teams in round-robin pool play in the SEMO North division of the tournament. Pool play in the SEMO South Conference will begin Wednesday with Charleston, Kennett, New Madrid County Central, Oran and Scott City competing. The 10 teams will then be assigned seeds in a bracket tournament that begins Thursday.

JV -- Cape Central won 23-25, 25-22, 25-13

Jefferson 25 25, Saxony Lutheran 13 21

Allie Sprink nailed nine kills and notched seven digs to pace the Crusaders in the loss to the Blue Jays in Festus, Missouri.

Jordan Hecht added 10 assists and three kills, and Logan Franke had nine digs for Saxony Lutheran (17-12-4).

Jefferson upped its record to 19-9-1.

JV -- Jefferson (Festus) won 25-22, 25-13

Clearwater 25 22 25, Scott City 19 25 11

Hannah Shemonia recorded 13 digs and five digs but it was not enough as the Rams fell in three sets to the visiting Tigers.

Chloe Clayton added five kills, and Emma Cundiff dished out four assists for Scott City (6-23).

Clearwater improved to 13-13-4.

JV -- Scott City won in two sets

St. Vincent 25 25, Leopold 12 10

The Indians had no problems disposing of their fellow Class 1 District 3 member in the home rout.

St. Vincent upped its record to 21-7-3, while Leopold dropped to 13-13.

No additional information was provided.

Advance 25 25, Bell City 15 15

The Cubs were unable to spoil senior night for the Hornets in the conference road loss.

Advance improved to 16-10-2 overall and 2-3 in the SCAA Conference, while Bell City fell to 15-11-2 overall and 2-3 in conference play.

BOYS SOCCER

Perryville 7, Fredericktown 0

Eann Bergman and Cole Gerstenberger each netted two goals and had two assists apiece as the Pirates blanked the visiting Black Cats.

Kyle Wood added one goal and one assist for Perryville (17-4). Emilio Mattingly and Pablo Mattingly scored one goal each, while Austin Hotop and Jacob Sparkman contributed one assist apiece for the Pirates.

Goalkeeper Trent Unterreiner had eight saves in the shutout.

Fredericktown fell to 3-11.
