Blake Bauwens broke a school record with eight 3-pointers in a game and finished with a game-high 27 points, as the Notre Dame boys basketball team got back on the winning track with a 66-56 victory Friday over host Saxony Lutheran.

Bauwens finished 8 of 10 (80 percent) from beyond the arc in breaking Wayne Essner's previous school record of seven 3-pointers in a game. Carson Ketcher added 10 points and six rebounds for the Bulldogs, who held a five-point lead at the end of each half. Ross Essner recorded five assists and four steals for Notre Dame (8-9).

The Crusaders were led by William Rogers, who finished with 20 points on the night. Corie Williams added 14 points for Saxony (15-4).

Clutch 3-pointers from senior Noah Vandiver gave the Wildcats a nail-biting Stoddard County Activities Association Conference win over the Cardinals in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Vandiver, who finished with a team-high 20 points, tied the game at 46-all with the first of his two 3s with 25 seconds left. After a bucket by Woodland, Vandiver hit from deep again -- this time with three seconds remaining -- to push his team to the win. The senior scored 10 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter.

Bloomfield (14-3) hit eight treys in the game, led by Tim Hector's four. Hector finished with 13 points.

The Cardinals entered Friday's game on a five-game winning streak, including victories over Jackson and Dexter. Zach Beel had a game-high 25 points to lead Woodland (12-4).
