Notes: Central's offense suffered through its worst game of the season with just 63 yards of offense in a rout at the hands of rival Jackson. It was the third game this season the Tigers were blanked. Central has scored just 34 points in six games. Sophomore quarterback Garrett Stevens, who had been averaging about 160 yards per game passing but had one touchdown and 10 interceptions, went down in the fourth quarter with an injury. Stevens will not play tonight, leaving junior Blake Slattery as the team's likely starter. Slattery completed two of four passes after Stevens went out against the Indians. FZN's offensive numbers are similar to Central's despite a .500 record. Matt Espey leads the team with 351 yards rushing on 71 carries, and Derrick Sanburn has thrown for 476 yards with zero touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Notes: Jackson running back Joel Penrod rushed for more than 100 yards for the third time this season despite not carrying the ball in the fourth quarter against the Tigers. The Indians allowed less than 100 yards offense in each of their two SEMO North Division games this season. Jordan Sneathen had a punt return for a touchdown and a receiving tochdown last week. Poplar Bluff last week allowed just 14 points, its best defensive outing of the season, despite losing to Farmington. Poplar Bluff had allowed more than 40 points in each of its first four games. Mules quarterback Asa Wyatt leads the SEMO Conference with 938 yards passing to go along with eight touchdowns.

Notes: Scott City sophomore running back Cody Carlyle fell just short of a third straght 100-yard game with 90 yards on 17 carries. Carlyle has been carrying the load for the Rams with senior Jonathan Barr out with a leg injury. The Rams were able to score on a late drive but fell short in their comeback attempt against Fredericktown. Sophomore quarterback Ethan Watkins threw for 86 yards and a score in the loss. Hayti is coming off its most lopsided game of the season, a rout against Portageville. Hayti's first four games had all been decided by four points or less. Wide receiver Standrique Matlock has been averaging close to 20 yards a catch.
Last year's meeting: Malden 52, Chaffee 20
Last week's games: East Prairie 55, Chaffee 35; Kennett 14, Malden 7
Notes: Chaffee's 35 points against the Eagles was the highest point total for the Red Devils since a season-opening win over Grandview in 2000. Malden has been plagued by injuries much of the season after dropping four of its last five games.

Notes: St. Vincent is looking to go to 4-0 in Mississippi Area Conferece Blue play with a win Friday. The Indians have won three straight. Dustin Winkler, Tim Guilliams and Waylon Richardet each scored on runs in the Indians' 21-0 win over Crystal City last week. So far, Maplewood-Richmond Heights is 1-3 in the conference with losses to Valle, Crystal City and Grandview before surprising the Lancers last week. Dwayne Howard leads Maplewood with 227 yards rushing, and Bryant Allen has 321 yards passing with four touchdowns and four interceptions.
Last year's meeting: Perryville 22, Fredericktown 7
Last week's games: Potosi 40, Perryville 0; Fredericktown 20, Scott City 16
Notes: Perryville did not have an answer for Potosi running back Brandon Casey in its homecoming loss Saturday. Casey rushed four four touchdowns and 179 yards in the rout. The Pirates were shut out for the third time and have scored more than 20 points just once this year. Fredericktown has won two straight and is led by running back Brandon Brown's 563 yards rushing on 80 carries. Wesley Sharp has thrown for 461 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions.
