* Notes: Jackson handed the storied Jefferson City football program just its second homecoming loss in 60 years last week. Indians running back Joel Penrod had another 135 yards rushing on 34 carries, his second 100-yard game of the season. Central has beaten Jackson just twice over the past 10 years. St. Louis University High running back Stephen Simmons rushed for 209 yards against the Tigers last week. Garrett Stevens threw for 166 yards in the loss, but still has just one touchdown pass to nine interceptions this season.

Friday

Fredericktown (1-4) at Scott City (2-3), 7 p.m.

* Last year's meeting: Scott City 42, Fredericktown 12

* Last week's games: Scott City 14, Chaffee 0; Fredericktown 20, East Prairie 13

* Notes: Sophomore running back Cody Carlyle went over 100 yards for the second straight week, as senior running back Jonathan Barr sat out with an injury. Rams quarterback Ethan Watkins has thrown for more than 100 yards in each of his two starts. The Rams had eight sophomores on offense at times against Chaffee. Fredericktown took advantage of several mistakes by East Prairie, a team which has beaten Scott City, to get in the win column last week. Brandon Brown leads Fredericktown with 368 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Wesley Sharp has thrown for 321 yards with four touchdowns and only one interception.

St. Vincent (3-2) at Crystal City (4-1), 7 p.m.

* Last year's meeting: St. Vincent 46, Crystal City 6

* Last week's games: St. Vincent 28, St. Pius 13; Valle 27, Crystal City 6

* Notes: St. Vincent held Carlos Bisch -- who came into St. Vincent's game with 940 yards rushing -- to just 88 yards in a win over St. Pius. Waylon Richardet scored three touchdowns in the win. Cody DeRousse leads the Hornets with 672 yards rushing and nine touchdowns. Crystal City has five players with at least 100 yards rushing, with its top three rushers all averaging more than 10 yards a carry. All four of Crystal City's wins this season have come against teams with losing records. For the second straight week, defending MAFC Blue Division champion St. Vincent is playing a team fellow league leader Valle beat the previous week.

Saturday

Potosi (4-1) at Perryville (0-5), 1 p.m.

* Last year's meeting: Potosi 28, Perryville 27

* Last week's games: Park Hills Central 34, Perryville 21; Herculaneum 24, Potosi 21, 2OT

* Notes: Perryville rallied to outscore Park Hills Central 21-6 in the second half but could not overcome a 28-0 halftime deficit. Ryan Schilling had a pair of touchdown passes in the loss. Potosi dropped its first game of the season with a double-overtime loss to Herculaneum. Potosi quarterback Earl Haug has not thrown an interception this season while racking up 651 yards passing and eight touchdowns. Brandon Casey leads the team with 568 yards rushing on only 52 carries.

Chaffee (0-5) at East Prairie (2-2), 2 p.m.

* Last year's meeting: East Prairie 55, Chaffee 28

* Last week's games: Scott City 14, Chaffee 0; Fredericktown 20, East Prairie 13

* Notes: Chaffee's offense mustered just 92 yards in its loss to Scott City. The Red Devils did play their most competitive game since a 15-6 loss in the 2003 opener against Grandview. East Prairie struggled in a loss to Fredericktown, but possesses one of the area's top backs in Paris Tipler.
