The Scott City Rams are looking to con-tinue their run of success and lineman Levi Senn is sure to be an integral part of it.
Senn is one of the mainstays on both the offensive and defensive line for the Rams, and he is expected to see a bigger role this season.
That responsibility for Senn is one he doesn’t take lightly, and it shows up in his preparation.
“I always just try to watch a lot of film on the guy I’m going up against,” Senn said. “I just watch what he does, and if there’s anything I can pick up on that will make it easier for me to understand what he’s going to do.”
Rams coach Jim May said he’s talked with the group of linemen about being leaders as the team embarks on the 2023 season.
“We’ve got to fill the leadership void left by our seniors,” May said. “We need guys to step up and be leaders for us, and they’re doing a pretty good job so far.”
May has high praise for Senn’s abilities and the way he plays the game.
“Levi plays really hard,” May said. “He’s tall, he’s long, and he’s a really good line-man. He’s dependable, and he’s just a really good football player.”
Over the course of Senn’s career, he said he’s seen the biggest growth in his game come in the pass-blocking and run-blocking areas.
“You just have to get a lot of reps,” Senn said. “I did some work in the off-season, not enough in my opinion, but practice is helping me out with it.”
Senn’s off-season training regiment consists of weight lifting as well as agility work.
“It can sometimes be hard to motivate myself,” Senn said. “But, it’s something that I’ve got to do. Football is the sport I love.”
Senn said he and his teammates are excited to kick off the season come August 25.
“We just need to help the community out and get them here,” Senn said. “We play hard, and we’re just here to play.”
