JACKSON -- Ford & Sons Cape Legion and Jackson Legion split a doubleheader Thursday night with Jackson winning the opener 10-7 and Cape winning the nightcap 16-6.

Cape's victory was its first of the season and put its record at 1-3.

Mike Jones suffered the loss in the opener for Ford & Sons, allowing three hits and walking five in 2 1-3 innings.

Justin Cook had two of Cape's seven hits. Josh McIntosh added a double.

Cape Legion led 5-4 entering the bottom of the third inning, but Jackson moved ahead for good with a four-run outburst.

In the nightcap, Cape Legion scored 10 runs in the first inning and Joe Hamilton pitched four innings to notch the win.

Cape Legion banged out 16 hits. McIntosh, who had two hits, and Hamilton belted home runs. Mike Sullivan had three hits and Garrett Broshuis and Jones each had two.
