Cape Girardeau's Senior American Legion team committed five errors en route to a 13-8 loss to Festus at Capaha Field on Wednesday night.
Cape's Ford & Sons team (22-13) led 4-2 after one inning, but Festus scored four runs in the second and three more in the fifth to take a 9-6 lead. John Thies took the loss for Cape after going four innings. Thies allowed 10 hits and nine runs, five of which were earned.
Offensively Cape had 12 hits, led by Patrick Slattery's two hits, including his seventh home run. Matt Wulfers added three hits, and Luke McClellan and Chris Conrad had two hits apiece.
