Five of Jackson's nine wrestlers won their first-round matches to advance to the quarterfinals of the Class 4 state wrestling tournament on Thursday in Columbia, Mo.

Jarrett Reisenbichler retained his undefeated record (33-0) in the first round of the 106-pound class with a pin of Jefferson City's Dennis Barnes in 1 minute, 3 seconds. Reisenbichler will face Blue Springs South's junior Christian Findley (29-2) in the quarterfinals today.

In the 120-pound division, Jake Byrd triumphed over Emil E. Holt's Mike Brown in a 6-4 decision. Byrd (35-2) will face Waynesville senior Isaiha Johnson (38-3) in the quarterfinals.

Jackson's Tyler Rush advanced for the Indians in the 138-pound division. Rush (33-1) pinned Fort Zumwalt West's Tyler Woolbright in 3:35, and he will face Fort Osage sophomore Jesse Jeffries (45-3) today.

In the 152-pound division, Clayton Collier eked out a 6-5 decision over Hazelwood Central's Allan Person. Collier (36-2) will face Park Hill junior Colston DiBlasi (42-3) today.

Heavyweight Preston Hobeck rounded out the list of first-round victors for Jackson. Hobeck pinned Jefferson City's Logan Coil in 2:40 to advance to the quarterfinals. Hobeck (33-2) will face Hazelwood West's undefeated senior Daniel Vaughn today.

As a team, Jackson stood fourth after Thursday's matches.

In Class 2, Notre Dame's Noah Huff advanced to today's quarterfinals competition in the 113-pound class. Huff (37-10) fell over Logan-Rogersville's Jamieson Reaves in 3 minutes, 5 seconds to advance. Huff will face Fulton's undefeated sophomore Josh McClure (32-0) in today's second-round dual.

Semifinal matches also will be held today.
