The graduation rate for Division I student-athletes has reached 60 percent for the first time since the NCAA began tracking the figures 18 years ago, according to a survey.

Robert Gamez shot a seven under 63 to take a one stroke lead in the Texas Open at LaCantera Golf Club in San Antonio. Gamez fired a 30 on the back nine to top the leaderboard. John Huston and Frank Lickliter II are one shot back.

Soccer

Southeast Missouri State University's women's soccer team (6-2) will play a pair of road games this weekend, at 7 p.m. today against Drake (4-3-1) and ending at 1 p.m. Sunday against Creighton (3-4-1).

Volleyball

Southeast's volleyball team (6-8, 1-1 Ohio Valley Conference) will play a pair of OVC road matches this weekend, beginning today with a 7 p.m. contest against defending OVC champion Tennessee-Martin (8-3, 3-0), which has won six matches in a row. The Otahks play at Murray State (1-8, 0-3) at 2 p.m. Saturday.
