SOME TRENDS never die. Why does the Southeast Missourian continue to write about a former athlete who violated team rules now that he is off in another town playing college sports?

Spoiled player

IN READING about the Arkansas State basketball player who refused to wear Adidas shoes, I think the athletic director needs to show that player he is replaceable and let him stay on the bench. The player's actions are like that of a toddler who wants his way. Upcoming athletes do not need this kind of mentor.

Redirect the heat

THE SOUTHEAST football team still is struggling. I suggest taking the heat off coach Tim Billings. The program has no support from the athletic department -- meaning the athletic director, the university president. All they seem to do is have another name change. I know they're thinking about it. That's all they did the last time when it was this bad.
