Setting the record straight

To the editor:

I am writing this letter to set the record straight about Southeast Missouri State baseball coach Mark Hogan.

I have spent the last couple of weeks reading about the positive and negative things that the citizens of Cape Girardeau have said about him. I have to say I am displeased at the negativity that was written about him.

First of all, no one is perfect. Every coach has strengths and weaknesses. Overall, records speak for themselves.

I was probably one of the most uncoachable players that ever played at Southeast, and he found a way to bring success out of me even after everyone else had given up on me. I was a part of something special, and for that I am forever indebted.

Thanks for the memories, coach Hogan.
